If every American household replaced only one of their incandescent bulbs with an energy-efficient CFL, it would save more than $600 million in annual energy costs, and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars.
Compared to other CFLs, ECObulb®PLUS lamps contain lower amounts of mercury, lead, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and polybrominated biphenyls. These lamps have lower levels than the standards of the European RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substances) and NEMA’s (National Electrical Manufacturers Association) proposed mercury levels. This helps for a cleaner environment.
Recycled Packaging
ECObulb®PLUS is packaged using recycled material that can be recycled again. Through curbside recycling (where available), you can help conserve energy and natural resources while reducing pollution and the need for more landfills.
ECObulb®PLUS CFL technology is a big step forward in the quest for a cleaner environment. These bulbs contain less hazardous materials and are packaged in recycled paper and recyclable plastic. The reduced levels of harmful materials in these bulbs means less hazardous waste and fewer toxins leech into the soil and poison the environment when disposed of in landfills
