The Story
Tobias Stucco Interior Wall Finish was created by artist/designer Randolph Johnson in 1990 for a new home he designed and had built for his family. Refusing to use paint or plaster on the interior walls, he reached for an esthetic in his minds eye. An alchemist at heart, he dug into his amply stocked pantry of compounds and pigments and created what is currently, nationally acclaimed as new best product of the year by Interiors and Sources Magazine and has inclusion in the prestigious 2007 Green Spec Directory, produced by Building Green and publis
hed by McGraw- Hill.
Mr. Johnsons design work created the perfect platform for test marketing Tobias Stucco as it was included in all of his projects for over a decade. While producing the product from the family garage, other designers began requesting to use Tobias on their projects. With the launch of a dynamic website and Google ads Tobias Stucco (named for the families deceased dog) leaped into national distribution mode.
Running neck and neck as the companys key to success is Tobias low VOC-green aspects and innovative qualities.
Tobias Stucco is revolutionizing an industry that has become accustomed to a more traditional, labor intensive method for achieving a similar high- end look and quality. Embraced by plasterers across the country for its ease of application, Tobias is well on its way to becoming the wall finish of choice by conscientious design - build professionals.

Textures
Tobias Stucco produces a medley of enriched textured surfaces. Its cake batter consistency is forgiving and affords the professional craftsman unlimited creative possibilities.
Surfaces
Tobias Stucco can be used to create an aged effect for murals. Apply 2 coats smooth trowel to the wall. Once Tobias Stucco is completely dry sand the surface with an electric sander to smooth out. Paint directly on the surface or seal with one coat of flat spray lacquer. The sealer will allow you to paint smoother. Not using a sealer lets you scrub the color using a brush with more control. Your colors will be very vibrant. For best results make a sample and discover what works best for your medium.

You can create a dimensional border around the mural by using press board and moldings as in application section.
Uses
Tobias Stucco can be used for a variety of interiors from wall finishes to stone facades and architectural details.
Tobias Stucco works wonders on a variety of surfaces. Its cake-batter consistency makes installation a breeze for the professional craftsman. Designers, specifiers, drywall contractors, Venetian plaster and stucco installers have enjoyed the beautiful results theyve achieved with Tobias Stucco. Tobias Stucco has been used in private residences, restaurants, hotels, spas, hair salons, retail stores, showrooms, on movie sets, television commercial sets, and as a base for painted murals.
General Installation Instructions
Tobias Stucco Interior Wall Finish can be used over most common building substrates, this guide will provide basic information for installation and application.
Tape around moldings, doorways, windows, baseboards, etc.
Remove tape between coats when Tobias Stucco is damp and re-tape when the first coat is dry.
For new construction apply flat primer to gypsum board, particle board, cement board, concrete or cinder block. White primer will suffice; however tinting the primer to match the Tobias Stucco color of choice will prevent white holidays from appearing.
Allow the primer to dry thoroughly before applying the first coat of Tobias Stucco.
Apply Tobias Stucco with a trowel no more than 1/16 thick. More than 1/8 thickness will create a crackling effect. Press in and pull trowel across the substrate. Do not overwork the trowel.
Allow each coat to dry thoroughly. Always use the recommended number of coats for each texture. Tobias Stucco requires a minimum of two coats to achieve the optimum look and durability.
Begin application at the corner of the wall and proceed. Complete one wall or plane at a time. Never stop in the middle of the wall or plane to avoid cold lines.
