It’s serious:

In this busy rush rush life…. Time is better spent having fun…not cleaning floors. With Marmoleum, dust mop and damp mopping is the extent of the attention this floor needs. Unlike carpet, stains don’t sink in, stain, and require intensive effort to clean and often to no avail. If you spill on Marmoleum, simple wipe up and presto…..all done……
It’s fun!

With Marmoleum – you are the designer! It is not the typical assembly line pre printed pattern. Marmoleum offers the tools to work with; over 100 colors, insets & borders with endless possibilities. Marmoleum offers you the opportunity to express yourself in your own unique way to create your living space as YOU envision it. From designs with quiet simplicity to the use of daring colors and patterns, Marmoleum can fulfill a broad range of desires.
It’s natural:
Healthy Indoor environment:
Marmoleum is made with natural raw materials. Marmoleum has no adverse health issues whatsoever, either during production, it’s useful life, or disposal. Marmoleum is the “natural” choice… made with natural materials and installed with solvent free adhesives, there are no harmful VOC’s being emitted.
When your issues include keeping a dust free environment due to allergy and asthma concerns, again marmoleum is the natural choice. The anti static properties of marmoleum not only reduce the potential for electric shock, but makes the floor easier to clean in that dust and dirt will not easily adhere to it.
The bactericidal properties of marmoleum prevent micro-organisms including Salmonella Typhimurium and Staphylococcus Aureus from multiplying themselves. It is the continual oxidation of the linseed oil that enables this phenomenon.
For these reasons, Marmoleum is the floor covering of choice in many hospitals, and is recommended by medical professionals for people with respiratory disorders.
Comfortable to walk on:
Marmoleum is a floor you can walk on without your feet being cold. It is a warm, comfortable, healthy floor.

Natural raw materials
Linoleum is produced from renewable materials: linseed oil, rosins, wood flour, jute and ecologically responsible pigments. The harvesting or extraction of these raw materials consumes relatively little energy.

Linseed oil, which is obtained by pressing the seeds of the flax plant, is linoleum’s most important raw material (and the origin of its name). Throughout the years, linseed oil has been used for many purposes, ranging from cooking to providing quick relief to people suffering from a cold.

Rosin, which is tapped from pine trees using a method that does not harm their growth, provides the binding agent for linoleum. Together with the linseed oil, rosin gives linoleum its unique combination of strength and flexibility.

Wood flour is used because it has the unique characteristic of being able to bind with the pigments. This gives our linoleum products their beautiful colors and ensures their long-term color-fastness.

Cork flour is the ground bark of the cork oak. We source ours from plantations in Mediterranean countries. The bark is peeled every seven to ten years without damaging either the lifespan or the health of the tree. Cork flour is used as a raw material in Bulletin Board and Corklinoleum.

Limestone is found all over the world in enormous quantities. In its very finely ground form, it is an important raw material for linoleum.

The vibrant, beautiful colors of our linoleum are created by using ecologically responsible organic pigments. The pigments used in our products do not contain heavy metals (such as lead or cadmium) or other harmful substances, and do not pose a threat to the environment.

Jute, which is spun from the fibers of jute plants in India and Bangladesh, is the preferred backing of our products because of its natural origins. Not only is there an abundant, renewable supply of jute, but it also provides critical export opportunities for these developing economies.
